Community Guidelines
Explorer Rank is a game about places you have really been. It is social — you compete with friends and with explorers around the world — so a few rules keep it honest and safe for everyone. These guidelines are part of our Terms of Service; you accept both when you create your account.
What other explorers see
The only things you publish to other people are your display name and your profile photo (and, depending on your privacy settings, your score, visits, achievements, and souvenirs). Photos in Memories stay on your device. Keep the parts that others see within the rules below.
Not allowed
- Sexual content. Nudity, sexual acts, or sexually suggestive names or photos.
- Child safety. Any content that sexualises, exploits, or endangers minors. We report this to the authorities.
- Hate and discrimination. Content that attacks or demeans people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
- Violence and threats. Threats, glorification of violence, terrorism, or self-harm.
- Harassment and bullying. Targeting another explorer with abuse, insults, or unwanted attention — including through friend requests, duels, or your profile.
- Impersonation. Pretending to be another person, a brand, or Explorer Rank itself, or using someone else's photo as your own.
- Personal information. Publishing someone else's private details (address, phone number, documents, exact location) without their consent.
- Spam and scams. Advertising, links, referral codes, or deceptive schemes in your name or photo, and mass or automated friend requests.
- Other people's rights. Content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other rights — for example a photo you do not have the right to use. Rights holders can send a complaint as described in Section 15 of the Terms.
- Illegal content. Anything that breaks the law where you are or where we operate.
- Cheating. Faking or spoofing your location, using bots or scripts, or any other attempt to bypass verification or manipulate scores and leaderboards (see "Fair play" in the Terms).
How we enforce these rules
- Report. Open an explorer's profile and choose Report to flag a name, photo, impersonation, spam, or anything else. Tell us what is wrong; we read every report.
- Block. Block removes the friendship, hides the explorer from your leaderboard and search, and stops friend requests between you. Blocked explorers are listed in Settings, where you can unblock them.
- Moderation. We review reports and may remove or reset content (for example a name or photo), restrict features, reverse cheated visits and score, or suspend or terminate accounts. We may keep reported content while we investigate. Serious or repeated violations lead to permanent removal.
- Appeals. If you think we got it wrong, contact us at hello@explorerrank.com or through Profile → Support → Contact us in the app.
